This policy provides information about why, how and when Ektico Group uses cookies. This Policy should be read together with the Privacy Policy. In this Privacy Policy you can find out how and why we collect and use personal information, as well as how you can exercise your rights regarding your personal data.
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files sent from a website to your computer or mobile device, which enable features and functionality on a website. They are unique to your browser, device or account. Session-based cookies last only while your browser is open and are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies last until you or your browser delete them or until they expire. The time until expiration of the cookie is referred to as the retention period. Ektico sets specific retention periods for each cookie type depending on its functions.
Apart from the distinction between Session and Persistent cookies, it’s worthwhile to know that we distinguish essential, analytical & tracking cookies. Essential and analytical cookies are usually Session cookies, whilst tracking cookies are usually persistent. To find out more about cookies, visit this site.
Ektico uses the vendor’s services to ensure the due and proper processing of cookies, which are described in more detail below.
Do we use cookies?
Yes, we use cookies. We use both session-based and persistent cookies. Ektico sets and accesses our own cookies on the domains operated by Ektico and our group companies or affiliates (collectively, the “Sites”). In addition, we use cookies from third parties like Google Analytics for analytical or advertising purposes. Essential cookies are necessary to make our websites usable. Placing such cookies does not require your consent. Tracking cookies are only activated after you provide your consent via the cookie banner. Some analytical cookies also fall under Essential, but the majority are activated upon consent.
For an overview of all cookies used you can make a request by email to info@ektico.com.
Additionally, Ektico uses browser fingerprinting functionality. When cookie consent is given on one of Ektico’s domains, we use your browser’s fingerprint to apply the cookies you selected to Ektico’s other domains. This fingerprint contains browser attributes (for example, IP, browser version) and is stored for a period of 2 weeks. After that the fingerprint is deleted.
Ektico closely follows the developments in the Privacy-related laws and regulations. When we make any changes we will update this Cookie Policy accordingly. You can always find the latest version on our website.

More about coockies we use?
Whether a cookie is a first or third party cookie depends on which website the cookie comes from. First party cookies are those set by or on behalf of the website visited. All other cookies are third party cookies. We use both first party and third party cookies.
In some cases, some of these cookies are managed for us by third parties, but we don’t allow the third party to use the cookies for any purpose other than those listed in section 2 above.
We use the following cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies; These are cookies that are required for the operation of our website. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into secure areas of our website such as your Modulr account.
- Performance cookies: They allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around our website when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.
- Functionality cookies; These are used to recognise you when you return to our website. This enables us to personalise our content for you, greet you by name and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).
- Analytics cookies: In order to keep our products and services easy to use and up-to-date, we use web analytics services to help us understand how people use our website. For example we can see which parts of our services are most popular, identify when errors occur and test different versions of a page or feature to see which one works best. These web analytics services may be designed and operated by other companies on our behalf. They do this using small invisible images known as “web beacons” or “tracking pixels” that may be included in the digital products and services on our website. These are used for example to count the number of times something has been seen. These web beacons are anonymous and do not contain or collect any information that identifies you.
- Targeting cookies; These cookies record your visit to our website, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed. We will use this information to make our website and the advertising displayed on it more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties for this purpose.
By using our website, you agree that we can place the above types of cookies on your device.
